Aimee McVeigh – Director

Aimee McVeigh is an experienced lawyer who has worked across private, non-government and community sectors internationally and in Australia. Recently, Aimee has worked as an advisor on gender perspectives to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the rights of indigenous people.

Aimee has led a culturally and professionally diverse team in her capacity as Principal Solicitor in a community legal centre. She holds qualifications in Law, Communications and Business Management.

“I engaged Aimee McVeigh to prepare a report incorporating a gender perspective in work that I am undertaking about the impact of extractive industries on indigenous peoples. Aimee’s work demonstrated her understanding of human rights frameworks particularly those specific to women and indigenous peoples. Aimee is easy to communicate with, her work was produced within tight timeframes and she was genuinely interested in the work that I engaged her to do.”
